SURPRISING EFFECTS OF SNORING ON 6 FAMOUS PEOPLE
Mar 21, 2023
Because billions of people snore, it follows that snoring does not discriminate among its victims. For percentages, 25% of us snore like gangbusters, and 45% snores a little. People of all walks of life, races, creeds, occupations, and ages suffer from snoring. Even some world leaders, star athletes, billionaires, musicians, and movie stars are known to snort a little or a lot; they, too, could certainly benefit from a good snore blocking device. And when you consider the effects of snoring, such as interrupted sleep, low blood-oxygen, strained relationships, and abnormal function of throat and jaw muscles, it makes one wonder if these effects would be magnified when the snorers have influence on more people than the regular working class have.
Let’s consider a few interesting cases.
TOM CRUISE NEEDS A SNORE STOPPER
Actor Tom Cruise is purported to be a vigorous snorer, which may account for discord in one or two of his failed marriages. To appease a previous wife, Katie Holmes, Cruise renovated a spare bedroom into a “snoratorium” so she could sleep in peace and quiet. Hopefully, there were more justifiable reasons for the divorce.
VLADIMIR PUTIN DESPERATELY NEEDS AN ANTI-SNORE DEVICE
Russian leader Vladimir Putin is known to honk some in his sleep, and we can only speculate about the effects. Given the fact that many snorers receive angst and sometimes contempt from lovers, it’s entirely possible that Putin’s self-esteem has taken some hits. The backlash is often reinforced in mornings upon waking, especially when Putin offers any constructive criticism to his partner, who understandably may retort, “How dare you? I can’t even get a good night’s sleep because of your snoring!” Furthermore, if some of the gasping and snorting occur after several seconds of not breathing (Obstructive Sleep Apnea), Putin may be suffering from low oxygen levels in his blood, and this can hamper brain function. Now, blood and its passenger oxygen are pumped to every cell of the body, but the farthest cells are last to get it; therefore, the oxygen can mostly be used up by the time it gets to toes, fingers, and outer limits of the cerebral cortex. The frontal cortex resides just behind your forehead and serves in judgment eg. decision making. It’s akin to the grass around the last sprinkler in the irrigation system. It’s plausible, then, that Putin’s snoring may have had something to do with his decision to invade Ukraine. An extreme example, you say, but nevertheless possible. Seriously, would a happy and well-oxygenated Putin have made such a tragic judgment?
IS THERE A SNORE GUARD COOL ENOUGH FOR KEVIN JONAS?
Reportedly, Kevin Jonas and his wife, Danielle, sleep in separate beds on account of his snoring. For fans of the Jonas Brothers, this can be either worrisome or comforting, depending on the hearts of the fans: I hope they stay happy and married; I hope they split up so I can have a shot at Kevin.
PRINCE HARRY WANTS HIS SNORE STOPPER TO BE GOLD EMBOSSED
During military service, His Royal Highness shared a room with his brother, William. Unfortunately for William, Harry’s loud snoring kept him awake at night. Prince William reported to People Magazine, “He snores a lot; he keeps me up all night long!” Maybe Harry has procured a good anti-snore device; afterall, Meghan is still with him. And until he is crowned King, we have little to worry about.
WHAT IF SHAQUILLE O'NEAL DUNKED HIS MOUTHGUARD IN ICY HOT?
NBA legend, Shaquille O’Neal, has publicly promoted awareness of the risks associated with snoring and sleep apnea. He participated in a Harvard sleep study, which diagnosed him with OSA (Obstructive Sleep Apnea). This is where a person stops breathing during sleep for 10 seconds or more before the brain sends a panic signal to lungs and diaphragm to breathe again. OSA can decrease the amount of oxygen in the blood, and this can cause abnormal function of jaw muscles, often leading to TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) disorder. TMJ affects millions of people with regard to biting and chewing issues, pain, clicking, popping, headaches, and neck spine alignment. A good mouthguard that advances the lower jaw forward gives the tongue more space to rest and thereby can open up airways at the back of the throat to accomplish freer breathing and healthier sleep.
RIANNA PREFERS PINK ANTI-SNORE MOUTHPIECES
Pop Star Rihanna boarded a flight from Miami to LA, sat in first class, and fell asleep as the other passengers were boarding. Her snoring was obvious. Some delicate comments were made later, and Rihanna issued a public apology to the passengers of this American Airlines flight. Was it really her fault? A good snore guard can prevent embarrassment.
So, snoring can affect anyone, and its effects range from annoyances to serious medical issues, or worse. Remember to look for a good anti-snore device for potentially life-changing benefits.
